Nicholas Hirst is a medical student, MPhil candidate and research officer of the Surgical Outcomes Research Centre (SOuRCe) at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. At SOuRCe, Nick works under the leadership of A/Prof Daniel Steffens, conducting research into preoperative optimisation and surgical outcomes of patients undergoing major cancer surgery. Nick’s MPhil thesis is investigating psychological interventions in prehabilitation for patients undergoing cancer surgery.
