Erica is the Chief Medical Officer of Southern Cross Healthcare, the largest private hospital network across Aotearoa New Zealand. A general surgeon by training, she subspecialised in breast cancer and co-founded Auckland Breast Centre and Focus Radiotherapy before embarking on further study in Health Strategy, Leadership, Te Reo Māori, and Governance. Erica now is in non-clinical health leadership. As an advocate, she is a Trustee on the Boards of Auckland City Mission and the BBM Trust, as well as advocate in the accessibility space. She is married with two adult children.
