Dr Oliver Waddell is a general surgical trainee based in Christchurch, currently doing a PhD titled “studies into early onset colorectal cancer”. This research is looking into several aspects surrounding the rising incidence of early onset colorectal cancer including evolving epidemiology, risk factors in early life, the tumour transcriptome, treatment patterns, pathway to diagnosis and psychosocial impacts around quality of life and sexual function. He graduated from Otago Medical school in 2012.
