Jo is a Vascular surgeon in Dunedin Hospital, Head of Department of Surgical Sciences at University of Otago and a spiritual director. She was a medic in the British army and spent time in Iraq setting up health centres and working as a doctor. She also developed multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinic in Dunedin and Southland hospitals.
