Maurizio is a triple-qualified (Italy, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand) academic surgeon working as a specialist paediatric surgeon at Monash Children’s Hospital and Senior Lecturer at Maurizio has a strong passion for clinical research, focussed on minimally invasive surgery and clinical trials; he has been awarded prizes for his research from the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He sits on the scientific committees of three international societies.
