Shelley McKellar is the Hannah Chair in the History of Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and a tenured Full Professor in the Department of History and the Department of Surgery at Western University, London, Canada. McKellar studies the history of medicine and health care, with a special interest in the history of medical technology, the history of surgery, and medical biography. Whenever possible, she incorporates medical objects into her teaching and research to spotlight the often 'hidden' history of medical instruments and devices.
