Richard Hamilton is an Adelaide based plastic surgeon with more than 30 years experience. He was trained in Adelaide, Christchurch New Zealand, Melbourne and Gothenburg Sweden before returning to Adelaide to become the founding Head of Plastic Surgery at Flinders University Medical Centre. Later he set up a private practice aka Hamitlon House Plastic Surgery where he pioneered day surgery as it applies to plastic surgery. He is credited as establishing microsurgery as a speciality at Flinders and also as a joint coworker in the development of the DIEP (Abdominplasty free flap) for breast reconstruction for patients suffering from Breast Cancer.
