Neil Wetzig is Emeritus Senior Surgeon at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane – now ‘Consultant and Advisor of Surgical Training Programs’ at HEAL Africa Hospital in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, first visiting Congo in 2003. He represents HEAL Africa at the G4 Alliance for Surgery, Obstetric, Trauma, and Anaesthesia Care - in November 2022 was elected to Vice-President of the G4 Alliance Permanent Council becoming President for 2025-2026. He is a member of the RACS International Engagement Committee, has examined in General Surgery for RACS and continues to examine for the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA).
