Dr. Micky Olangi is a Solomon Islands surgeon at Kilu'ufi Hospital, a provincial health center in Malaita Province. Dr. Olangi completed his medical and surgical training at the University of Papua New Guinea. He is the only surgeon in the entire province of Malaita, which is home to some 162,000 inhabitants. In addition to his surgical responsibilities, Dr. Olangi manages gynecologic emergencies and routinely provides primary health care to patients at Kilu’ufi Hospital. His research interests are focused primarily on surgical management of complication and comorbidity from non-communicable disease.
