Dr Joyce Yu is a unaccredited general surgery registrar working at Lismore Base Hospital. She has a keen interest in research, and is currently completing her Masters of Clinical Epidemiology with the University of Sydney. She is also a passionate advocate for gender equity and diversity, and other areas of research include the impacts of pregnancy and parenthood on surgical training in Australia and AoNZ. Outside of medicine, she co-founded Consent Labs, a not-for-profit that has provided over 60,000 Australians with evidence-based consent education. Joyce has been recognised as a 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australian in 2022.
