Dr Jonathan Coates is a health law and health sector specialist. He has extensive experience in all areas of health law. Jonathan’s practice is a mix of litigation and advisory. He has appeared as counsel in many significant cases that affect the health sector. Jonathan was a partner in Buddle Findlay for a number of years following which he set up Claro, a specialist health sector law firm. Claro has recently merged with Dentons, a global law firm, where Jonathan is a consultant. Jonathan has a PhD in health law. His thesis examined the regulation of health professionals and health services and considered the role that the law can play in improving the quality of health services.
