Australia – NZ citizen, originally from Flanders. MBChB University Cape Town & Otago 1979 General Surgical Training Wellington, FRACS General 1986. Three years General Surgery, NHS, UK. General Surgical Consultant in NZ 1986 – 1999 (Grey Base & Wanganui Hospitals). Retrained as Vascular Surgeon 1999 – 2000, FRACS Vascular 2001 & DDU (Vascular). Vascular / Endovascular Surgeon Westmead Hospital, Sydney, 2000 – 2024. Subspecialised as Dialysis Access Specialist 2012 onwards. Joined MSF (Medecins Sans Frontieres) as volunteer, 2011. I have done x10 two month missions: Congo(3x), Yemen(2x), Gaza(x2) Afghanistan(x2), & Cameroon(x1). I have dealt with 100s of HV gunshot wounds and bomb blast victims.
