Danette is a general and colorectal surgeon with subspecialty interests in intestinal failure, inflammatory bowel disease and complex abdominal wall construction. She completed general surgical training and CSSANZ Colorectal Fellowship in Australia and further post-fellowship training in complex colorectal surgery (intestinal failure and inflammatory bowel disease) and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction in the United Kingdom. 

 

Dr Wright is the Head of Department of General Surgery at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital, the Clinical Network Director for Surgery for Western Sydney Local Health District and an Executive member of the NSW State Committee of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. She has an interest in surgical quality and safety and has a number of surgical specialty committee roles with the Clinical Excellence Commission. In her spare time, Danette is a medieval history enthusiast.
